I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over eight years of experience counselling youth and adults, more than a decade of experience practising and teaching mindfulness, and over twenty years of experience supporting youth and families. I earned my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from UBC, as well as my Education and Bachelor’s degrees. In addition to my own private practice, I have worked as a counsellor at a community clinic, at a private clinic, and for many years at a high school for students with learning differences, including ADHD, autism, learning disorders, and mental health challenges. I have also taught mindfulness to youth as part of the Crisis Centre’s outreach programs.
I work collaboratively with my adolescent and adult clients to create a non-judgmental and safe space to address concerns such as anxiety, stress, overwhelm, depression, relationship and social challenges, communication skills, family of origin influences, identity, life transitions, and the impacts of neurodiversity. I seek to support my client’s unique needs with authentic caring and a tailored, integrative approach by drawing from areas such as mindfulness, neuroscience, self-compassion, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as emotion-focused and trauma-informed approaches. I welcome clients from all backgrounds.
I am passionate about helping my clients increase their insight into their experience, process their emotions and thoughts, bring compassion to their challenges, and acknowledge their strengths. It is my goal to help clients build skills that allow them to live the life they choose.
The human capacity for resilience and growth never ceases to amaze and inspire me: change and healing are possible, and I look forward to guiding and supporting you in your journey to achieving them.
